Lecturer: Civil Engineering
Faculty of Engineering, Science, Technology and Built Environment
£35,170 - £43,357 per annum (salary placement will be dependent upon Qualifications and Experience).
Glenrothes Campus - the role may require travel within the Fife Region.
9.14 hours per week (6.17 hours teaching).
Anticipated start date as soon as possible.
Temporary until 30th June 2023.
As part of the Built Environment Team you will support students in the achievement of their learning goals through providing an appropriate, effective and engaging learning experience. You will contribute to the overall effectiveness of the curricular area, assisting team members and the Academic and Quality Manager in recruiting students and evaluating learning and teaching. Support the achievement of the operational and strategic objectives set out in the College Regional Outcome Agreement.
You must be qualified to HND/Degree (SCQF Level 8 or 9), or, SVQ Level 4/5 in the relevant vocational area, or, hold the highest level qualification in the relevant discipline to the subject area being taught. In addition, you must have relevant current academic experience, or have demonstrable experience and practiced skills in an industry setting.
The ideal candidate should have the skills and knowledge to deliver training over a broad range; theory based HNC / D units at SCQF level 7 and above. Ideally multidisciplinary across the Built Environment Construction areas. A working knowledge of CAD or advanced manufacturing would also be advantageous.
Effective communication, organisation and interpersonal skills are essential. You will have the ability to inspire, encourage and motivate others together with the desire to make a real difference to our students.
