Please note that the successful candidate without an assessor qualification will initially be appointed to the role of Trainee Vocational Learning & Assessment Officer with a salary range of £31,681 - £33,663 until assessor qualification is obtained. Salary placement will be depending on industry qualifications and experience of the applicant.

About the Role
Join our dynamic Painting and Decorating team in assessing candidates at SCQF Level 6 on -site throughout Fife and outskirts providing crucial support and advice to candidates to help them gather and present a portfolio that meets the performance criteria and evidence requirements of their vocational qualifications. You will play a key role in the continuous development and improvement of the vocational learning programmes, ensuring they align with industry best practice and standards.

Qualifications
- Essential:
- SVQ Level 3 and PDA Level 6 in Painting and Decorating
- Or
- Appropriate qualifications as laid down by the relevant awarding bodies and requirements of the industry
- Possession of Assessor and Verifier awards (should you not hold these qualifications you should be willing to work towards).
Experience
- Essential:
- Proven relevant up to date industry / work-based experience
- Experience in delivering vocational training and education within a relevant industry sector.
- Proven ability to develop and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of candidates and industry standards
- Familiarity with the standards and requirements of relevant awarding bodies and experience in applying these standards in assessments.
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes for maintaining compliance with educational standards and external verification requirements.
- Desirable:
- Demonstrable experience in conducting assessments and evaluations within a vocational or educational setting
- Experience in mentoring or coaching individuals, particularly in educational or workplace settings.
- Proven track record of supporting candidates through the completion of qualifications or training programmes.
- Experience in acting as an internal verifier or similar role to ensure the quality and integrity of educational assessments and outcomes.

- Ability to clearly articulate instructions, feedback, and concepts to candidates, employers, and colleagues.
- Effective, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems using own initiative.
- Flexibility to adapt teaching and assessment methods to different candidates and environments.
The role necessitates frequent and extensive travel therefore a valid driving license is required.
